Rob Griffin arrived in Pasco, Washington in the spring of 1977 hoping to crush some grapes, make a name for himself and quickly return home to California as a bonafide winemaker.
But Washington never let him go.
Forty harvests later, we released this wine to honor and celebrate his continuing contribution to our industry.
He made just one barrel... perhaps for his 80th harvest celebration he'll make two.
Laced with alluring spice notes, hints of licorice and toasty oak. Cherry, plum and bittersweet chocolate flavors are livend with bright acidity.
Excellent with seared beef fillet or rack of lamb.
The bright and juicy acidity elevates dark fruit and cherry flavors. Elegant and richly textured. Delightful oak spice, orange zest and black currant notes round out the palate.
This wine would pair nicely with tender cuts of beef.
This wine delivers hefty layers of blackberry, cherry and orange fruit flavors rounded by fragrant oak spice. The body is concentrated with a long, juicy finish.
The firm, assertive style makes it a great match for rustic dishes; such as savory winter lamb stew or your favorite spicy grilled sausage.
